Last night I completed a ritual ceremony to mark my transition from wiccan practice to druidic practice. I meditated, and found myself pledging to honor the ways of the druids. The ways of the Wiccan and the ways of the druid are quite similar. But I never had the patience for the traditional "year and a day" study before. I should change that, and test my dedication to the path.
But I get ahead of myself. My name is Xander Pendrake. I am nonbinary and masculine, and I use they/them pronouns. I have been writing speculative fiction for years, but I only recently became interested in neopaganism after meeting some neopagans online and doing some research. I started with Chaos Magic, then Wicca, and now finally Druidry has truly spoken to me. I am pantheistic and view deity as being ever-ever present, and able to manifest in multiple ways to multiple people. I chose Druidry because the path of the Bard spoke to me. Bards are the lorekeepers of Druidry, those who learn ancient stories and poems, while also creating new ones to inspire the generations to come. This is there way of channeling the awen, or sacred force of imagination and inspiration. This is exactly the path for me, I feel, and I think it would be wise to try and commit myself to my spirituality as much to my creativity. This blog will act as my journal through this transformation of self, as well as a hub from which I can link the stories and poetry I write. I've never really had a homepage, and I need to fix that. Thanks for reading, and I hope you will come along for the ride. May the Awen be with you.
